With Guyana predicted to emerge as a top per capita producer of oil, high-impact exploration drilling activity increasing substantially, and oil & gas proving a primary investment opportunity, the country is set to be transformed over the course of the next decade.

 The Guyana Economic and Investment Summit will present investment strategy and opportunities across both oil & gas, and the broader spectrum of the Guyanese economy.

With estimated recoverable reserves of more than 13 billion barrels of oil and 32 trillion cubic feet of gas, investment opportunities in Guyana are plentiful. Bringing together government, investors, E&P companies and service providers, the summit will explore these opportunities alongside wider possibilities for Guyana’s developing economy, including agriculture, infrastructure and tourism.

Sessions One and Two

Guyana Economic Outlook

Guyana is home to some of the biggest oil and gas finds in the last 10 years, with the government due to receive in the region of US$7B over a 20-year period from the LIZA Phase One well alone. This session will hear from key Guyanese officials regarding the economic opportunities developing out of Guyana’s oil and gas sector, including agriculture, telecommunications, infrastructure and tourism.

Oil & Gas Developments

This session will consider the latest developments within the Guyana Oil & Gas Sector, focussing in particular on finds from ExxonMobil and Tullow Oil. ExxonMobil have already submitted production plans for Liza-1 and Liza-2, both signed off by the current administration. These two projects alone should produce an estimated 340,000 barrels per day, with future production estimated at 750,000 barrels per day by 2025. Tullow Oil’s Jethro-1 exploration well, has resulted in a high-value discovery that could yield more than 100m barrels of oil.
