Ben has worked on UK energy policy in DESNZ and its predecessors for over a decade. He currently leads government policy concerning the strategic and environmental assessment of low carbon hydrogen production technologies. Water is a key focus given the need to balance expansion of the hydrogen sector with the changes and challenges faced by the UK's water system.  

Ben has worked on policy across the emerging low carbon hydrogen value chain from production and storage to transmission and end use. He previously worked in the carbon budget team - developing a deep understanding of the UK's carbon targets and government's associated legal responsibilities.
