Nur Dalila Alias

Nur Dalila Alias

Nur Dalila Alias is a Structural Manager for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) at PETRONAS, with more than 15 years of experience in offshore structural engineering, asset integrity, brownfield redevelopment, and energy transition projects. She specializes in enabling fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that support investment decisions, Front-End Loading (FEL) studies, and Final Investment Decision (FID) readiness for complex offshore developments. Throughout her career, Nur Dalila has led and advised on major offshore developments, including Malaysia's pioneering CCS initiatives, where she has been instrumental in assessing brownfield platform reuse, asset life extension, offshore injection facilities, and structural integrity strategies to de-risk project execution and optimize capital expenditure. Her work has contributed to integrity-driven decisions that improve project economics while maintaining safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Prior to her current role, she served in Enterprise Decarbonisation, where she drove business case development and techno-economic assessments for emerging low-carbon technologies, including offshore geothermal, hydrogen-related studies, and enterprise decarbonisation initiatives. She has also supported investment due diligence, CCS governance development, and project assurance activities, providing perspectives that bridge technical feasibility, commercial value, and execution readiness. Nur Dalila holds a Master of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering from Heriot-Watt University Malaysia and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. She is an active contributor to international technical forums, has authored multiple publications on decarbonisation and sustainable energy solutions, and represents PETRONAS in industry engagements related to CCS and the energy transition. As a panelist for"Achieving FID – Global Lessons Learned in Project Delivery," she brings practical insights from the owner-operator perspective on how technical assurance, brownfield optimization, project governance, and early engineering judgment can accelerate decisionmaking and improve the likelihood of successful FID outcomes in CCS and hydrogen developments
