Rob is a Naval Architecture graduate of Newcastle University with a first class honours degree, and holds an MBA from the University of Bath.  Rob is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Royal Institution of Naval Architects and has over 25 years of experience in technical leadership in the energy sector.

Rob has led and completed numerous energy projects globally, including subsea pipelines, terminals and platforms for large offshore infrastructure projects.  More recently Rob has helped lead the energy transition within Arup.  Rob is currently the Independent Technical Advisor to Northern Ireland Water and responsible for technical oversight on this innovative hydrogen demonstration project.  Prior to this Rob was Programme Manager and Independent Advisor to BEIS for the Hydrogen for Heating Technical Support Programme.  Reporting to the deputy director and responsible for the development of the programme brief, appraisal framework and governance requirements for a £200M research and development programme.
